This young producer works with vines from 30 years old to centenarians throughout the central region of the country. The ones in Dão are located on a plateau at an altitude of 500 meters. The climate, with large thermal amplitudes, is influenced mainly by Serra do Caramulo to the west and by Serra da Estrela to the southeast. The soils are granitic and on the surface there is a surprising abundance of rolled pebbles. The wines are made in an old stone cellar, where winemaking is very minimalist. Like the ancient Druids of the Celtic civilizations, who had a strong connection to the earth and sought spiritual balance through the balance of nature, what we look for in wines is sensory balance through harmony between soil, climate and plants.
Ruby color, reveals notes of cocoa, spices, cherry, gunpowder and a plant of fine freshness. In the mouth it presents great elegance and structure, with silky and enveloping tannins. The unique combination of elegance and strength offered by the Dão region is evident in this wine.
